Arraigo social (social settlement)

Arraigo sociolaboral (socio-labour)

Second-chance arraigo

For those who held legal residence and lost it. Requires 2 years of stay.

Arraigo socioformativo (socio-educational)

2 years of stay + enrolment in official training. Limited to 30 hours per week of employed work.

Family arraigo

No minimum stay. For children of a Spanish parent or a parent with legal residence, and for parents of a Spanish minor.

We handle your arraigo
from start to finish.

We manage the gathering of documents, the online application before the Immigration Office and the follow-up until a decision is issued.

The maximum decision period is 3 months. If the authorities do not respond, the application is deemed refused by administrative silence and we prepare the appeal.

The most common questions
about arraigo

What types of arraigo currently exist?
There are five permanent types: social, socio-labour, second-chance, socio-educational and family arraigo. In addition, there were two extraordinary regularisation routes (for international protection applicants and extraordinary arraigo) whose application window ran from 16 April to 30 June 2026 and is now closed; we continue to manage the applications filed within that period.
How long must I have been in Spain to apply?
The ordinary types (social, socio-labour, second-chance and socio-educational) require a minimum continuous stay of 2 years. Family arraigo does not require any minimum period of stay.
What is the difference between the various types of arraigo?
Social arraigo requires family ties or the social integration report issued by the Generalitat; socio-labour arraigo requires an employment contract of at least 20 hours per week; second-chance arraigo protects former legal residents; and socio-educational arraigo requires enrolment in official studies.
Can I work with a permit granted through arraigo?
Yes, all of these permits automatically allow you to work both as an employee and as a self-employed person. The only exception is socio-educational arraigo, which is limited to employed work of up to 30 hours per week.
What are my options if my arraigo application is refused?
You can file an administrative appeal (recurso de reposicion) with the Immigration Office itself within one month, or challenge the decision in court through a contentious-administrative appeal.
